Lloyd is starting an internship with Wabtec Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas. The internship will concentrate on Supply Quality Integration, which focuses on using and providing the most up-to-date technology for both Wabtec and their customers.
She told Spanco she decided to pursue engineering because she has always been interested in creating new technologies. She also enjoys spending free time with her family and friends, as well as reading about new research and technology.
Lloyd is currently a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, as well as the Society of Female Engineers and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Also vice president of the Materials and Manufacturing Group club, which helps connect students with scholarship and internship opportunities. By her senior year, Lloyd will be the first female president of the club.
These groups have offered additional resources beyond classroom education. As a member of various campus communities, including multiple STEM communities, Lloyd has been able to develop leadership, communication, and networking skills that will help her to become more effective in her professional career.
After graduation, she would like to pursue a master’s degree and eventually go on to earn a doctorate degree. Ultimately, Lloyd wants to have a career as an engineer in the military and defense field.
“We want to congratulate MollyAnne for her internship opportunity and for receiving the 2021/2022 Spanco Honor Scholarship. We wish her great success as she continues to pursue all of her goals,” a spokesman for Spanco said.
