In an exclusive interview with RGM Cranes, Jenny Eagle, editor, Hoist and Joe Woolerton, head of sales, Hoist, chat to Alex Dowling, Group CEO, RGM Cranes at LEEA LiftEx 2024, at London Olympia (October 16, 17).

Dowling talks about how the company was founded in 1988, 36 years ago in South Africa by his late father, and has now expanded into the UK.

It is the first time RGM Cranes has exhibited at LiftEx. It entered the UK market one year ago with Scott Turner branch manager and Scott Dowling, MD.

“You can’t be a leader in your field and not attend LiftEx and we will definitely be back,” he said.

Speaking to Woolerton, Dowling said partnering with Guralp as a supplier was an easy decision to make. It is also a family firm which is important to them.

“When it comes to the South African market, there are not many competitors that can offer the same when it comes to Guralp and Planeta. It’s a one-stop shop. For us relationships are vital in the growth of our business with suppliers as well as customers,” he said.

RGM Cranes also works with BrightHouse South Africa which works with the Tour de France. “Any new technology that’s coming out with have a vey open mind,” added Dowling.
