Granada Cranes, a UK-based company, has been chosen to supply 72 davit crane units for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm project in Scotland.
The wind farm, a joint venture between Red Rock Renewables and ESB, is set to be one of the largest offshore wind farms in the region.
The contract follows Granada Cranes’ successful delivery of a single davit crane for the offshore substation in 2024.
Granada Cranes offshore wind technical sales manager Saul Ashton said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious wind farm project. Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada Renewable product and service division.
“The Inch Cape project is not only great news for Granada but also for our UK-based supply chain. Granada having supplied over 2,500 offshore davits is the UK’s leading offshore wind farm davit crane supplier.”
The company will be providing two different types of davit cranes tailored to accommodate the various foundation designs of the project.
Granada Cranes’ focus is on delivering modern, low-maintenance crane designs that are user-friendly and efficient.
The company is now in the process of sourcing materials and subcontracting specialised work to local businesses to meet the project’s requirements.
Production of the initial crane batches is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with deliveries expected to continue throughout the year.
