While China remained sluggish, with net sales down by 12.2% on the same period last year, it still accounted for over 20% of the company’s net sales for the quarter, which were up 12.7% on Q1 2011 to JPY 7.4bn.
Demand heightened by reconstruction efforts in Japan accounted for 33.1% of the quarter’s sales while North American sales account for 31.3% of the company’s total sales for the quarter.
The company said that while the US remained strong, sales increased by 6.2 per cent year over year in Asia, and Kito Corporation reported that demand is backed by large investments from outside Asia.
Citing sales increased sales in conjunction with cost-cutting measures, the company expects orders to remain strong, and aims to strengthen its focus on demand in Asia including domestic.
