The 20,000 sq ft facility will provide lifting and survey equipment, small tools, light plant and fencing, and will complement Speedy’s network of 350 depots, as well as its 80,000 sq ft multi service centre in Warrington.
Customers will also be able to get testing, inspection and repair services for lifting equipment at the superstore.
“Thanks to its central location and strong transport links, the superstore will enable us to address a much wider region, ensuring we can service both existing and new customers faster,” said Craig Smith, general manager of the Speedy Stoke-on-Trent superstore.
Speedy plans to open more than 30 superstores across the UK by 2012, and Smith said: “With a fleet of brand new equipment and further investment planned over the next 12 months, we are well placed to help support major construction projects and industrial customers across the region.”
