The RCS system can be used to monitor, diagnose and programme Drivecon’s XT and XS series drives, CID hoist monitors or programmable logic controllers (PLCs), using an IBM compatible PC.
RCS uses a wireless interface coupled with an Ethernet connection to a serial converter to interact directly with variable frequency drives, CID hoist monitors or PLCs. It also allows the use of Drivecon’s NCDrive programming software, which is the commissioning and monitoring tool for the XT and XS range.
Drivecon said that by using RCS, users are able to compare parameter sets, change the active application, save and print parameters, and generate service reports to file.
“RCS allows immediate, real-time monitoring and trouble shooting of your crane control system without having to incur the expense of dispatching a technician before the true cause is fully understood,” said Mark Ubi, vice president of Drivecon. “In many cases, adjustments can be made remotely and your crane can be returned to service within minutes instead of hours, saving valuable lost production time.”
