The order includes 12 48t capacity SM cranes, which will be used for coil handling, and 78 16t capacity CXT cranes, which will be used for pipe handling.

Konecranes said these cranes had been specified as they feature advanced control systems and a compact design that “offer big savings in building construction costs”.

The pipe factory in Yangzhou is currently being constructed and will be able to produce 350,000t of steel pipes a year for the Chinese hydraulic cylinder and automotive industries. The first cranes will be delivered in September, with the last arriving in July 2010.
