The American Welding Society has published a revision of its standard for welds in industrial and mill cranes.

The document, AWS D14.1/D14.1M:2005, Specification for Welding of Industrial and Mill Cranes and Other Material Handling Equipment, has no major changes, although it has been updated and corrected. It now includes both US units and SI (metric) units, according to Peter Howe, director of AWE’s national standards activities.

The standard was developed by a cross-industry committee headed by James Nelson of Northrup Grummond.

The standard costs $68 for non-members from Global Engineering Documents.
