At the time of his June 18 death, police said Hicks was operating an overhead crane at the shipyard on the bank of the Mobile River and was crushed between a piece of steel and a wall.
The report said, following talks, the company has agreed to pay $18,000, down from the $47,500 proposed in November by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
According to copies of the citations, OSHA found that a crane had a broken latch and that employees were working in hazardous locations, the report concluded.
