Involving the provision of a comprehensive and fixed price maintenance contract covering Joy Mining Machinery’s 50 overhead travelling cranes and 120 jib hoists, the maintenance services division of Morris has also undertaken additional project work, including the design and installation of overhead travelling cranes.

A Joy Mining engineer said: “Morris Material Handling was selected on its experience and competence. Given the high risk activities associated with our on-site cranes and jib hoists, it is essential to ensure that the lifting equipment is maintained to the highest standards.”

And added: “The service is reviewed to ensure that standards are maintained at optimum cost and to date Joy has been extremely satisfied with the service levels provided.”

Support for the Joy Mining contract emanates from Morris’s Birmingham-based service centre (one of 11 located nationwide) with on-site technicians being deployed to coordinate and deliver the service.

Morris UK sales manager Graham Dames said: “Our total crane care package has been devised as a means of helping clients’ budget for a service in complete confidence. Alongside the many other support packages we are able to provide clients, this particular service is proving increasingly popular,” he added.
