The solicitation was issued in September and “considering the size of the project, the timeframe is not unusual,” contract specialist Kathie Duke told Hoist. “One of the reasons it was postponed, is continued interest resulting in questions that require adjustments to the specifications,” she added.
The project is located approximately three miles northwest of the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, on the Portuguese River. The work will include construction of a 220ft high roller compacted concrete (RCC), single centre thick arch dam with a crest length of 1,230ft and an estimated 367,000 cubic yards of RCC.
