Keedy added: “Part of my new remit will be to develop a marketing strategy which brings together all of the group’s services under a single unified brand and further strengthen Speedy’s customer support initiatives, such as the ongoing Safety from the Ground Up programme.”
She joins the company after three years as head of marketing at DSGi Business, the £400m turnover specialist IT group and owner of the PC World Business brand, and has previously held senior commercial and marketing positions at Caudwell Communications and Marconi plc.
Speedy’s marketing department is responsible for the company’s award-winning Safety from the Ground Up initiative, which provides guidance and support to operatives and contractors on major health and safety issues in the construction industry.
Speedy recently acquired Hewden Tools, a move which has increased the number of regional depots owned by the group to 540, and the company has increased the range and scope of its specialist equipment businesses.
