The crane comes with a two-step variable frequency drive (VFD). It spans 51ft and runs on rails 180ft in length, while bridge speed is 100fpm (feet per minute).

It also comes equipped with a pair of Detroit electric wire rope hoists – one main and one auxiliary – to help flip parts. A tool and die maker specialises in designing, crafting, and maintaining precision tools, dies, moulds, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.

The 40-ton capacity main hoist features closed loop VFD, and offers a lift height of about 23ft and lift speed of 10fpm. The auxiliary hoist, meanwhile, has a capacity of 20 tons, a lift height of approximately 38ft, and lift speed of 15fpm. It also comes with closed loop VFD.

The controller is a Cattron Patriot radio remote.

The crane, meanwhile, gets a Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) ‘C’ classification, which means it’s designed for ‘Moderate Service’ and that the average load is 50% of the rated load.

Tri-State Overhead Crane has been manufacturing and servicing overhead cranes since 1959 and serves clients across the US, as well as Canada and Mexico. It says that its sales experts, in-house engineers, and fabrication shop all work closely together to develop custom solutions for a customer’s specific material handling needs.

It also works with manufacturers such as R&M, Harrington, Demag, CM and Gorbel as a distributor of both cranes and hoists, and also offers a range of other lifting devices and services.

Its HQ is in St Louis, but the firm has branches in multiple states, including Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, Iowa and Nebraska. It adds that it also has factory-certified crane technicians ready to provide repairs, inspections, maintenance, parts support, and other services for industrial crane equipment.
