The partnership between Gunnebo and Farrell O’Brien was forged with the assistance and proactive involvement of Verlinde’s UK sales and marketing manager, Simon Rothechild, who could see what he called “a fantastic opportunity for all parties concerned.”

He said: “Gunnebo was the largest dealer in Ireland, and Farrell O’Brien was starting to make inroads into similar markets. There was a great deal of synergy between the two organisations and highly complimentary skill sets – the resultant merger with Farrell O’Brien makes Gunnebo a formidable player in the Eire and Northern Ireland marketplace, and considerably strengthens Verlinde’s presence and offering in the territory.”

Rothechild added that the new partnership has already shown promise – a number of new orders for wire rope hoists and chain hoists have already been placed in Ireland under the new distribution deal. He said: “I can see the newly enlarged Gunnebo in Ireland going from strength to strength now it has access to the additional experience and expertise of Farrell O’Brien”.
