Igus added: “This material passed many tests at the in-house laboratory and achieved far superior results in all direct comparisons with other materials.”

Igus has also developed a plain bearing – called “Iglidur H370”. This heavy-duty polymer bearing is self-lubricating and, therefore, Igus said, maintenance-free, and is ideal for use in environments in which moisture and “all kinds of liquids” accumulate. Igus said: “Iglidur H370 is resistant to chemicals, corrosion and UV radiation.”

With less than 0.1% moisture absorption, it continued, and a saturation limit of less than 0.1% in water, plain bearings made from “Iglidur H370” are ideal for all underwater applications.

Suitable for rotating, oscillating and linear movements, this wear-resistant material can be used within a constant temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees C (temporarily: 240 degrees C), which makes it, according to Igus, “much better than standard polymer bearings.” With this permissible maximum temperature, “Iglidur H370” bearings may undergo a paint drying process, for example.

Both these products are now available in the new high-temperature material. The extensive energy tube construction kit also offers all kinds of modular interior divisions, many different connecting elements, integrated strain relief devices, guide troughs and additional accessories.

If requested, the chip-resistant energy tubes can also be delivered as a “ReadyChain”, completely harnessed with cables and hoses, direct to the machine.
