Eno Hausner Andersen, of SKS Kraner as (SKS Cranes Ltd), was named chairman, while Jorgen Hansen, of Dan Loft Aps, and Niels Chr. Nielsen, of Fyns Kran Udstyr as, were appointed as committee members.
Said Andersen: “We will use the next year to come closer to the Danish authorities, which deals with technical matters with interest for the association.”
He added: “We will continue our work with the association’s certificate system for the employees.”
The Danish Crane Building Association has 11 members, which together cover up to 80% of the Danish market for new cranes, services for cranes and delivery of lifting material.
Andersen told Hoist: “SKS Kraner is the biggest [turnover] SWF Krantechnik partner in Denmark.” Headquartered from Viby Sjaelland (Viby Seeland), near Copenhagen, the company has 20 employees.
Andersen said his appointment was due to the turnaround of his own business, which he bought two years ago. The Kran Fabrikant Foreningen admired this.
The Danish market for new cranes and for lifting equipment is in growth, but Andersen has three concerns. First, he is concerned about the rate of interest. Secondly, oil prices are a constant threat to business. And, finally, he notes a lack of employees, which, in his words, could choke the growth of the market.
“We are a small country,” he says. “We have a lot of students and people living off the state but not too many working in our industry.”
