Although scheduled for May, the factory opening has been delayed because of problems with electricity permits, says sales director Alfonso López-Roldán. In the meantime, GH will continue to supply cranes with girders made by a local sub-contractor.
The factory will be based on GH’s girder factory in Bakaikoa, Spain, he said.
It will continue to import hoists and end trucks from Spain.
The company currently has 25 employees in Mexico, following the opening of an office in Monterrey, Mexico a few months ago, as well as the current head office in Pueblo. When the Queretaro, Mexico factory begins production, the company will employ between 40 and 55 people across the three sites.
“We are hiring right now,” López-Roldán said.
The entire Mexican operation is headed up by director Juan Maria Azcona. The company has been in Mexico since 1999.
