OMZ designed the $2.5m crane and Uralmash manufactured it.
The company said that it has improved the design of the hoisting and travel gearboxes, main crane grab and bridge girders. A weighing system and other safety devices record load parameters. These improvements decrease the amount of vibration during lifting, increase gearbox life, and protect the bridge structure and cables from damage from fire.
OMZ has also shipped a 110t capacity overhead slab-handling crane to the Novolipetsk Steel Mill.
The $2.3m (Euro 2.0m) crane was designed by OMZ subsidiary NPO Vniiptmash and the metal fabricator was the Chekhov Plant Hydrostal. The crane has an improved crane tong and trolley design and an improved grab mechanism, the company said.
OMZ is a division of United Heavy Machinery.
