The Pro range is about 30% more expensive than the Silver range and offers a cast iron housing and lever, better performance and less wear on the load chain. The Silver range has about double the market share of the Pro range.
“The product was fantastic quality but its price made it difficult to put into the market,” Favé said.
The new hoist models are slightly easier to make and operate with a new mechanism.
The Pro chain hoist range extends from 300kg to 10,000kg load capacity. The Pro lever hoist range goes from 750kg to 6,000kg.
Pfaff launched the chain block earlier this year, but will only begin shipping new lever hoist models at the end of November. The Silver line was refreshed three years ago.
The Pro range has only half the market share of the Silver line. In the UK it is aimed at the rigging rental market, which Paul Kelly, MD of Pfaff-Silberblau UK, described as “bullish”.
The company has also launched a small 300kg capacity lever hoist in the silver line.
Pfaff has also launched a foldable workshop crane with a pedal and axle pin arrangement designed to be set up by one person that is expected to cost less than £500 (Euro 735).
