Spanish manufacturer Motorman has supplied a special concrete grab for contractors tunnelling as part of a new subway line in Barcelona.
The custom-built PG grab comes with built-in weighing system, powered opening and closing, and can rotate 360°.
Most of the company’s grabs are made for handling coils. The grabs, available in single- and double-reeved versions, can be specified with two, four, six or eight falls of rope, single- and double-reeved. Motorman has sold 150 over the past three years. The grab was first sold in 1997.
