Norwegian crane and hoist manufacturer Munck has won two aluminium-related crane orders.
It is delivering a 50t capacity, 12m span crane to Karahnjukar power station this month. The order is the first of five cranes to the power station, built to support a new aluminium plant. Later this year Munck will deliver four more cranes with capacity between 20t and 100t. Total contract value is Euro 600,000.
Iceland’s Nordural Aluminium Plant is extending its current plant. This year, Munck is delivering nine 25t capacity cranes. All will handle melted aluminium, and all are equipped with Munck’s new drum brake (Hoist April/May 2004, p. 11). All cranes will be equipped with frequency controlled-drives on all motions. Contract value is Euro 3.5m.
