Spanish remote control manufacturer Itowa has launched a work-area exclusion zone system.
An transmitter in the radio remote control sends out a constant signal in the infrared frequency range (from 300 to 400,000 gigahertz) to a centrally-mounted receiver. If the radio remote control moves more than 9m away from the receiver, it will no longer be able to operate the crane, according to the company.
The company has also launched a data recorder that notes the time and data from up to eight digital inputs. There are also two output relays and PC software.
It has also launched a three-joystick remote control that can transmit digital or analogue commands.
