BAE Systems is refurbishing and uprading five cranes at its submarine building facility at Barrow-in-Furness in England.
The contract, valued at in excess of $2m, includes the design and build of new hoisting trolleys for large span single girder monobox EOT cranes. The cranes were originally supplied by Konecranes (UK) Ltd in the 1980s.
Konecranes will begin manufacturing this year and completion is scheduled for late 2006.
