French conductor specialist Fels has added curved sections and transfer elements to its Mobilis Elite crane conductor.
Fels says that the Mobilis Elite has become a popular product throughout Europe since its launch two years ago. The development of curved sections and transfer elements now means the system can be used on monorails with curves and switches.
‘S’-shaped curves, curves with straight lengths at each end and variable radius curves are available, down to a minimum radius of 750mm. Articulated collectors help them to travel freely around the curves.
Systems incorporating transfer switches and turntables can be accommodated with the use of conductor transfer elements. Transfer guides and collectors are available for either continuous or discontinuous circuits.
The conductor system’s modular construction incorporates lengths of profile complete with conductors, each of up to 4m long. Snap on suspensions, joints and feed covers are all designed to make installation easier and faster. The collectors incorporate replaceable copper carbon inserts which push into place to aid maintenance. The profiles have a cellular construction to increase rigidity, so that supports can be fixed at 2m centres.
“The system represents one of the latest developments on the crane conductor market and it is probably the strongest and lightest multi-pole system available in the world today,” Fels claims.
Mobilis Elite comes in four and five pole versions, with current ratings between 20A and 200A. Protection lips are used for systems operating in dusty conditions.
The jointing method of the conductors incorporates a break head screw to ensure continuity and that the joints are tightened to the correct torque without distortion. The joint cover cannot be fitted until the head of the screw has been broken off.
Applications include power supplies to overhead travelling cranes and hoists, or any other machine with linear movement.
