A new series of hoist rings is being promoted by US manufacturer Jergens. The new SP2000 side pull hoist ring has a full swivel and pivot action which allows flipping and turning of lifted loads without unhooking them, Jergens claims.
The steel rings range in capacities from 295kg to 13t (650lb to 29,000lb) but are tested to 200% of rated load capacity.
Jergens’ bolt retention design avoids accidental disassembly if the ring is dropped, so e-clips are not needed, says the manufacturer.
Models with capacities greater than 816kg (1,800lb) offer the installer the option of using either an internal or external wrench-mounting feature.
Jergens also recently released a new ‘environmentally safe’ coating for its lifting products. The Environlox protective plating eliminates the threat to the environment from cadmium plating, the company claims.
