Morris Material Handling has launched a replacement for its 360 range of chain hoists on which all features which are usually considered add-ons come as standard – and without a significant price increase, the company says.

On the new S3 range, thermal protection and fan cooled motors are fitted as standard, as are raise and lower limit switches (which increase clutch, motor and gearbox life) and advanced condition monitoring. Advanced condition monitoring automatically records both hours of use and the number of lifts to help plan servicing and predict life expectancy of the hoist.

Morris says that it has included “all the features that you would normally only get with heavy duty chain hoists, or as expensive optional extras, as standard”.

Like the 360 range which it replaces, the S3 range of electric chain hoists has models with capacities of 250kg, 500kg and 1,000kg. The 250kg unit was launched in April. The larger models become available in September.

Designed for use at M4 conditions, the S3 is capable of working to M6 when required, Morris says.

The range is manufactured at Morris’s factory in Loughborough, UK.
