A range of planetary gearboxes and geared motors from Bonfiglioli is claimed to have advantages over conventional types used in industry. The compact design of the E300 Series can transmit high levels of torque and power very efficiently, the company says. Another advantage is said to be that, on some flange-mounted versions of conventional gearboxes, the flange can be 60% bigger, which can cause problems.
Bonfiglioli says that especially in low speed (below 20rpm), high torque (above 800Nm) applications the E300 Series can be used with lower power motors and still retain the same level of peformance. Available in 14 sizes, ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5000+ and torque capacities up to 540,000Nm.
