Schneider Electric exhibited from a range of products, designed to entice the overhead materials handling market

The Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), meanwhile, has posted a video of the show on its website. See the link at the bottom of this blog.

The next major trade show in the States is ProMat 2009, also organised by the MHIA. A link to its dedicated website is also below.

Closer to home, CeMAT (Germany) is fast approaching, and there’s been some breaking news from one crane firm and two remote control manufacturers since we went to press with the preview edition (April).

Kito will introduce a new electric chain hoist from its ER2 series.

The hoist features innovative frequency inverter technology for dual lifting speeds. The 6:1 speed ratio is pre-set in the factory as standard, but it can also be adjusted individually up to a ratio of 12:1.

Remote firm HBC-radiomatic (Hall 12 Stand A50) will present a wide range of new products and features, including the spectrum A and spectrum B transmitters.

These joystick controls feature a new integrated LCD for display of system and feedback data. Depending on the desired transmitter configuration, the user may have the load weight and wind speed displayed. The display of operating hours is also possible.

NBB Controls & Components AG, meanwhile, will introduce a new generation of receiver at CeMAT, the Compact M2, a small 172.5 x 114 x 67.5mm unit.

The receiver comes with all the trimmings, such as integrated antenna and an indicator for fault analysis.

The M2 has an interface for analysis and the possibility of changing, for example, the software to another application. “Of course,” said NBB, “the unit is protected to IP 65.”

Hoist will distribute copies of the magazine from its stand. Make a note, we’re in Hall 12 Stand F01.

Hoist welcomed 10,530 users to its website in April, more than in any previous one-month period, registering 124,515 impressions, also a record.

It is the second successive time the website has attracted over 10,000 visitors and recorded over 100,000 impressions in a calendar month.

In March, we welcomed 10,322 users, a record at the time, registering 109,087 impressions. That was the first time the website had attracted over 10,000 visitors and recorded over 100,000 impressions in a calendar month.

I’m getting some feedback as to who these visitors are and what they want to see more and less of but I can never have too much. To make this site as useful and interesting as possible for all the associations, law enforcement agencies, manufacturers, dealers, builders and end users that visit it, I need you to tell me what you want.

Stay online for all the latest news, product finder, reference information and more covering bridge cranes, jib cranes, chain hoists, wire rope hoists, blocks, end-of-line attachments, components and the installation, maintenance, training, consultancy and trade associations surrounding this equipment.
