Here Kyenjyetai Alip, legal adviser for Turkish crane and equipment lifting company,  Sayal Crane Systems, which designs and manufactures Overhead Cranes, Hoists and other material handling equipment, describes how she started her career. She is also the first Asian female lawyer in the Ankara Bar Association.

“I am not just a legal adviser as my responsibilities include the evaluation procedures of the export – import activities. It is not easy working in a foreign country, but  I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by people who motivate me. Volkan Dag and Samer Advan have been integral to my success in this company, teaching me a lot. As this company is mechanical engineering based, I have to know about my factory and what we manufacture and design. This makes it easier when I have to write a contract,” she said.

“In our company, there are four female employees: a cook, hostess, secretary and myself. The rest of the 50 workers are male. I owe a lot to my family and am grateful to them. They raised me as a warrior because they sent me abroad to stand on my own feet and become a strong woman. They made me brave but also trusted in me. Trust is very important. I am trying my best to make them proud. Last but nor least, I want to become a successful lawyer in Turkey in International Arbitration law and Trade law. As a non-Turkish person in Turkey, you have to show your capability compared to local lawyers. Thanks to my cultural and linguistic abilities, I represent three groups: Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Turkey.”
