The MND Association will also be in attendance at LiftEx 2023 and the LEEA Awards 2023 in Liverpool for some fundraising activities.

Motor neurone disease is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological condition affecting up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. The condition attacks the nerves, leaving those affected unable to walk, talk, eat and ultimately to breathe. It usually progresses rapidly and there is currently no effective treatment or cure. One-third of people with MND lose their life within a year and over half within two years of diagnosis.
A diagnosis of MND is frightening, leaving those affected unsure of what to do next and where to turn. Without the right support, they can be left feeling fearful, isolated and alone. Many people with MND can deteriorate incredibly quickly, so it is important for them to get the support of specialists in a range of areas quickly.
The MND Association funds research, improves care and provides support for people with MND, their families and carers.
Leea is a representative body for its members who work in every aspect of the industry, from design, manufacture, refurbishment and repair, through to the hire, maintenance and use of lifting equipment. The association has played a key role in this specialised field for over 75 years, from training and standards setting through to health and safety, the provision of technical and legal advice, and the development of examination and licensing systems.
