SWF Krantechnik

SWF Krantechnik is showcasing its NOVA2 wire rope hoist, setting new benchmarks in load handling thanks to its safety, efficiency, and functionality, making it an ideal choice for diverse lifting applications.

The hoist stands out due to its scalable design, which allows for customization to meet various operational requirements, ensuring reliability and consistent performance across all sizes.

One of its key features is the ability to maintain high quality and safety regardless of the specific application, providing users with peace of mind. Additionally, NOVA2 rope is designed for easy maintenance, simplifying the upkeep of equipment for operators.

Among its most notable features are the compact, centrally located trolley electrics, which streamline wiring and troubleshooting. The incorporation of guide rollers on the trolley frame further enhances smooth operation and reduces wear, while the accessibility of key components accelerates maintenance processes.

“Our partners and the market are enthusiastic about the new setup, especially about the modularity, flexibility and groundbreaking innovations that our new generation of wire rope hoists NOVA² rope offers,” said Christian Heid, managing director, SWF Krantechnik.

“Automation, digitalization, sustainability, flexibility and modularity. These elements are the focus and will be reflected in our product portfolio today and especially in the future. Integration of IoT, Industry 4.0 technologies for better monitoring, control, efficiency and security through additional sensor technology and AI.

“The hoist market in Germany is one of the largest in Europe. Despite the current recessionary situation, this segment in particular will continue to develop and grow, especially supported by investments in infrastructure, Industry 4.0 and AI. Regulatory changes, competition from outside the EU and the shortage of skilled workers will also pose the biggest challenges in our industry.”

Another development is the introduction of a new CAN bus control system, which guarantees precise and reliable crane operation. Furthermore, the redesigned hook block offers an advanced closed rope guide, improving safety with optimal finger protection, and features an ergonomic hand pocket for greater ease of use.

The NOVA2 rope is versatile, available with either steel or synthetic rope, and allows for seamless switching between the two with minimal adjustments. This flexibility makes it adaptable to a wide range of applications. Users also benefit from the ability to monitor the hoist’s status via the X-Link app, which simplifies diagnostics and enhances operational efficiency. The online troubleshooting service ensures quick and accurate fault detection, contributing to improved performance across crane systems.

Launched in the summer of 2024, the NOVA2 rope was initially available as a lowheadroom hoist for loads up to 10 tons and as a machinery hoist, ideal for tight spaces. Now, with the recent release of fixed hoists and double girder trolleys for loads up to 20 tons, SWF Krantechnik has expanded its NOVA2 portfolio, meeting growing demand for versatile lifting solutions in more challenging environments.

As the company continues to expand its product offerings, more models are in the works, promising to further elevate the capabilities of the NOVA2 rope.

Demag

Demag will showcase its DHR rope hoist at LogiMAT 2025, combining the best features of the company’s DMR and DVR hoist ranges. The product is designed for standard crane applications and stands out with its compact design and lightweight structure, making it an ideal choice for various lifting tasks. With its streamlined, weight-optimised tube structure, the hoist delivers enhanced performance while requiring minimal service.

One of the standout features of the DHR hoist is its high safety standards, including the elimination of counterweights thanks to a thrust rocker mechanism.

The rope hoist can now operate with both synthetic ropes like Dyneema, which are approximately 85% lighter than traditional steel ropes, and with steel ropes, offering flexibility for different user needs.

The high-tensile synthetic ropes do not cause wear on the rope drum or guide rollers, further improving its longevity and performance.

The DHR hoist is available with four motor options, ranging from two-stage hoist motors to inverter-controlled motors. The inverter motors allow for load-dependent speeds of up to three times the normal speed, providing optimal performance for various lifting tasks.

Additionally, the Demag DualDrive crosstravel system, featuring two wheels driven simultaneously by a belt, ensures reliable operation, with an option for a second motor for challenging conditions.

In terms of safety and control, the DHR hoist features an optional CAN bus system, allowing crane components to communicate with each other, thereby enabling the automatic monitoring of safety-relevant parameters. Users can also select smart features such as Sway Control, Bypass Controls, and Hook Centring to optimise the hoist for specific applications.

Demag also enhances the user experience with remote monitoring capabilities through the StatusControl 2.0 system. This web-based tool allows operators to monitor various functions of the hoist from a distance. The Demag Equipment App provides real-time updates and enables users and service personnel to view rope hoist data directly on their mobile devices. Additionally, trained users can adjust the hoist’s parameters, and wireless connectivity allows for over-theair software updates, ensuring the system remains up to date.

Safety is a top priority with the DHR, which is equipped with an ergonomically designed bottom block with a guide handle and protective covers, ensuring safe and comfortable crane operation. Users also have a range of options to tailor the hoist to their specific needs, including a second hoist brake, second cross-travel motor, rain canopy, and an IP 66-rated enclosure. Further customization options include radio controls that display load status and standby heaters for optimal operation in various environments.

The DHR hoist is now available in several configurations, with load capacities ranging from 2.5 tons for general mechanical engineering applications to 10 tonnes for crane-optimised monorail trolleys. The product range will be expanded to include the EZ-DHR double-girder trolley, which can handle loads of up to 20 tons.
