“With the EU Work at Height Directive 2001/45/EC, it is more important than ever to ensure that operators of mobile elevating work platforms are trained,” said IPAF’s German representative, Reinhard Willenbrock.
IPAF’s programme trains more than 50,000 people a year, the organisation said.
Manufacturer and rental members of IPAF actually provide the one-day theoretical and practical training course. Those who successfully complete a course are awarded a five-year PAL (powered access licence) card.
