Trainer, expert witness, inspector, consultant – if it relates to rigging, Mike Parnell has does it.
Parnell started work as a district sales manager of Wire Rope Corp. of America in 1979, and after five years moved to a general manager position at lifting gear supplier River Rigging.
In 1986 he moved to Industrial Training International, where he is now president and organises training for rigging jobs, and operating construction cranes, overhead cranes (according to the new NCCCO standard).
He also works to change the design of rigging products. He a main voting member of the American Association of Mechanical Engineers, and members of the ASME B30.9 standards subcommittees for slings and rigging hardware.
Riggers have attended Parnell’s training programs around the world, and he has earned a reputation as the guru of lifting practices.
