Users of air hoists are being offered new options by CompAir which says it has increased the versatility of its V18 and V22 rotary vane compressors.

The compressors now come with the option of either open or enclosed designs mounted on a base platform. The base platform, the key to the new improvements, has been designed to allow easier movement and simple pallet and forklift handling. A steel enclosure added to the base frame has converted the compressor from an open to an enclosed format. This new version is available directly from a distributor or as a retrofit kit.

Once enclosed, the silencing design of the snap-on panels is designed to give the compressor a noise level of 73dBA at one metre. Both compressors have a pressure range of between eight and 10 bar and contain a dedicated air end at the heart of the compressor. This is utilised by a direct drive arrangement and the installation of a Brook Crompton EFF1 motor. An auto-idle facility has been installed to eliminate off-load running and allows the compressor to use less than 30% of full load power before stopping.

Both compressors, which were previously known by the model numbers 818 and 822, are now supplied in CompAir’s new blue colour finish, which is part of the global re-branding scheme that is currently in process.
