Crane Training USA has acquired CMS Systems whose core product is the PSI-II Inspection CD-Rom program, a set of tools for creating inspection forms and managing inspection results.
PSI-Inspection II allows users to create blank crane inspection lists, fill in the results of inspections and print out the results. It is available in three versions: office edition, for creating and managing inspection files; satellite edition, for uploading to a notebook PC or a remote PC; and handheld edition, for downloading inspection results to a handheld PC, allowing users to record inspection results in the field and upload results back to their office PC.
• North American Crane Bureau Group, a rival supplier of crane training in the USA, is promoting its overhead bridge crane simulation training system. The pendant controlled simulator allows trainees to operate a virtual 10t SWL crane.
