US crane manufacturer OMi Crane Systems Inc has joined forces with Spain’s Industrias Electromecanicas GH to become the exclusive US distributor of GH electric wire rope hoists.
OMi sales manager Bill Ewing describes the alliance of GH hoist products and OMi overhead bridge manufacturing, as a perfect combination “which will allow OMi to satisfy customers’ overhead crane and hoist applications from 2t capacity to over 100t”.
Paul Weldon-Johnston, UK managing director of GH, said: “OMi Crane Systems are one of the United States’ fastest growing independent crane manufacturers and with GH being one of the world’s fastest growing crane producers, this alliance just had to happen. At GH we have committed ourselves to a 10% increase in our hoist production over the next six months, just to meet the demands of OMi and its dealer network.” GH now has representation in all the major global markets, including Australia, USA, Canada, South America, Africa, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
OMi distributes its products through an independent dealer network across the USA. OMi Crane Systems builds standard design top-running and under-running cranes. Under-running cranes are manufactured up through 10t capacity with spans up to 18m (60ft).
Several types of top-running cranes are produced. Single girder top-running cranes can be built with capacities to 15t and spans of 30m (100ft). Double girder top-running cranes start at 5t capacity with spans of 6m (20ft). OMi’s standard double girder crane designs go to 100t capacity with spans up to 30m (100ft). These standard design cranes can be customised with different options depending on the customer’s requirements, including cabs, walkways, service platforms, special paint and radio control.
