• UK-based Tirfor Ltd, a Tractel group company, has changed its name to Tractel (UK) Ltd to reflect an expanded product portfolio. In addition to the Tirfor Lifting and Pulling Machine, products offered now include equipment for materials handling, load indication, load limiting and safety.
• Jeamer has a new range of corrosion-resistant aluminium hand winches which it claims are ideal for deck machinery and dockside applications. Three models are available, with line pulls of 440lbs, 1100lbs and 1760lbs. The winch can be cranked from either end and load activated braking, where the load is held if the handle is released, is a standard feature.
• In the USA, Harrington Hoists & Cranes of Manheim, Pennsylvania has named Jim Small as its sales representative of the year and Tom Quinn, of Qunin Industrial Sales, as its manufacturer’s representative of the year.
