Canadian steel producer Slater Steel has ordered a 150 US ton capacity P&H ladle crane for its melt shop. Span of the crane is 32.5m (63ft 5.25in).

While many of the cranes in the facility are DC driven, the new crane will have AC adjustable frequency controls. Additionally, the crane will include a control house, providing a clean, cooled operating environment for the electrical equipment. The crane is scheduled for delivery by Morris Material Handling, Inc. in October.

Morris’ Burlington, Ontario branch has been providing crane maintenance for Slater’s production cranes as well as smaller maintenance cranes.
