A specially designed complete winch and spooling system has been supplied for the first time by Zollern. The 15Te winch is to be used in a Norwegian offshore application by a company specialising in oil platform and rig construction.
Speeds of up to 36m/min are possible and 144m of 30mm-diameter rope is stored on three layers.
Zollern supplied the complete unit including drum, frame, spooling system, rope, hook, hydraulic motor and controls.
The design and build solution was ready for quick connection to the rig’s hydraulics and Zollern supplied the unit with approval and European CE marking.
