Munck Cranes has supplied an automatic grab crane for a new waste-to-heat incinerator plant in Minden, Germany. The Norwegian crane company’s client is Energos ASA, which is also from Norway, and is building similar plants around Europe.

The crane system, designed and built in Munck’s main factory in Bergen, Norway, operates 24 hours a day to feed the incinerator with waste material that is burned. The resulting energy can be used to heat water to produce steam and then electricity from that.

Safe working load of the crane is 3.2t, it spans 14m, hoisting speed is 12m/min and the travel speed is 40m/min.
