The cranes will have capacities of 5t to 125t and spans of 27m to 43m.
“The cranes will be made and tested in China and then shipped to Australia,” said Fredrik Petäjävaara, Konecranes process crane and modernisation manager. “As our customer is based in China, they will be able to follow the manufacturing very closely.”
Sino Iron is a magnetite iron ore project under construction in Western Australia and will be the country’s largest magnetite mining and processing operation, as well as one of the largest mines in the world.
