The AMH database can store and retrieve test data by serial number, and produces test certificates for end-user records.

Certificates include a checklist of what has been inspected, as well as details of the specification of the lifting equipment, the technician, the date of the test and additional comments. The certificates can also be customized with the end user’s logo and company name.

Authorized users can search serial numbers via the AMH website, giving them access to test records entered by their company. The data can also be accessed via internet-enabled devices such as PDAs and smartphones.

AMH has made the database available to distributors qualified to service its products, but is considering offering it to customers that do their own maintenance as a secure way to record and store test data.

“This would be a desirable solution for meeting OSHA requirements to have accessible test data associated with hoisting equipment,” an AMH spokesperson said.
