Anton Grob has been managing director of Gis, Switzerland’s sole manufacturer of chain hoists, since 1987 when founder Alex Iseli retired and sold the company to Grapha Holding. Grob had previously been engineering director, having joined the company in 1970.

Throughout his career, Grob has led an innovative product development programme at Gis with crane systems and vacuum lifting devices, as well as electric chain hoists.

He has also been an active industry leader, particularly within the FEM (Fédération Européenne de la Manutention). For example, in recent years he was project director of the Standard FEM 9.756 – Hand-operated and power driven hoists for special purposes, published in August 2004.
