William Hackett has announced that Aydan Christie has been promoted to the Group HSE Manager.

Christie began his career after completing an Advanced Level Diploma in marine engineering and manufacturing. Since then he’s been working across engineering firms in the oil and gas sector across the North East, before entering lifting.

He has been in the lifting industry for three-and-a-half years and at William Hackett for two years.

He was brought into WH with the intention of taking on the role, and as part of the process has spent time working across many departments within the business. Initially getting hands on with the products as a warehouse operative, then product technician, delivering product familiarisation training with customers across the world, followed by sales, understanding the systems and processes, and now he’s officially Group HSE manager for both Alnwick and Cradley Heath sites.

“I’m passionate about health and safety, so I’m really excited to dive into this new role, shape our EHS culture, and our commitment to ensure the safety of our customers and employees,” said Christie.

Since joining the company, Christie has become a LEEA registered technician, completing his – FOU, LAC and MLM.

More recently, as part of his journey he has completed his IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

With his remit to developing continuous improvement across the William Hackett’s health, safety and environmental processes and culture, he will start working towards the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate in 2025.
