Russian crane manufacturer OAO Baltkran is producing 62 cranes for a nuclear power station being constructed in Lianyungang, China. Lifting capacities of the cranes range from of 1t to 50t, and designs and applications vary. The cranes were designed by Baltkran’s own design department in conformity with ‘Regulations for design and operation of nuclear power plants’, ‘Fire safety norms for design of nuclear power plants’, and with provision of a high degree of seismic stability.
A team of assembly specialists went to China in March to begin setting up the lifting equipment delivered by Baltkran. By July, 21 cranes had been delivered. The project runs until next year.
