The company, which owns Hiab, Kalmar and MacGregor, stated that employee cooperation negotiations concerning the entire personnel and lay-offs have largely been concluded. Cargotec estimated that the measures taken will result in approximately EUR 30M (USD 40M) cost savings this year.
In September 2012, Cargotec announced it was expanding its operations in Asia to cover the manufacture of MacGregor offshore cranes. The company stated that it was well-known in the North Sea area and aimed to achieve the same level of popularity in Asia.
