Crane America Services (CAS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Demag Cranes & Components, has named Kristi Cain as director of human resources and safety. Cain’s responsibilities include consulting with management on employee relations issues, reviewing and recommending procedures and practices, overseeing training, directing benefit programmes, monitoring safety programmes, and coordinating and monitoring employee recruitment. Cain previously served as a human resource generalist for Amtex, Inc. in Lebanon, Ohio, a supplier of soft automotive interiors to Japanese manufacturers. She also worked in the human resources department at Burke Products, Inc., a government contractor located in Centerville, Ohio. …and VP marketing
CAS has also named Rick Smith as vice president of sales and marketing.  Smith will be responsible for managing the company’s sales operations, “providing strategies and programmes that deliver higher productivity and cost savings to customers, while increasing Crane America’s market share, revenue and margin growth throughout its 31 US locations,” CAS said. Smith was previously general manager with a competitive service company, overseeing the sales and service efforts for the company’s central region, including marketing, forecasting, budgeting and operations as well as the overall performance of 22 service branches.  He also served as district manager for the gulf-state region and as a branch manager. Smith served in the United States Navy for nine years, where he earned the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Heroism.  He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
