This venue was built between 1959 and 1961 on the premises of the so-called Eintracht on the edge of the town centre. When it was officially opened on March 15 1961, the Siegerlandhalle was one of the 10 largest hall complexes in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Work on the modernisation and expansion of the site, which makes it today the largest events location in Southern Westphalia, began over a year ago.
ChainMaster, in collaboration with Trendco, equipped the Siegerlandhalle with a computerised chain hoist controller, eight 1,000kg BGV-C1 chain hoists and six 500kg BGV-D8 chain hoists with position and load measurement systems.
The computerised controller has dual operating positions, one of which can be used on the move in the hall. The BGV-C1 hoists are used, among other things, for the movement of acoustic sails, whilst the BGV-D8plus hoists are mobile and cover a range of applications in conjunction with the computerised controller.
Now that the work of renovation is complete, the foyer of the Siegerlandhalle conference and congress centre is nearly twice its previous size. From the second floor, a new gallery opens out into the Great Hall, extending the overall seating capacity by 500. The Siegerlandhalle can now accommodate a total of 2,400 people sitting or 4,300 standing.
