This will include chains, load binders and assemblies for moving heavy equipment, and manual hoists to assist in the removal of debris. CMCO will also provide equipment that will assist farmers and other agricultural workers in both the short- and long-term.

Equipment from CMCO is due to start arriving in Haiti in late February. CMCO’s contribution is part of an ongoing effort by members of the Industrial Supply Association to provide supplies that will be integral in the rebuilding of Haiti.

“Being a material handling company, Columbus McKinnon manufactures many products that can be used directly in the clean-up efforts,” said Karen Howard, chief financial officer at CMCO.

“We are contributing a wide array of items that workers can use to lift, pull or transport materials during the relief efforts. We are also including equipment such as powered hoists that will be needed as the long rebuilding process takes hold.”
