Shanghai Laogang Comprehensive Waste Development, an existing Demag customer, is establishing one of the world’s largest incineration plants. It has geared the Laogong plant to reduce waste at a large local dump and generate electricity.

The cranes will be used within refuse bunkers at the Laogang plant, for preparing the refuse to burn and for feeding the incineration lines.

Xue Jun Jiao, general manager at Shanghai Laogang Comprehensive Waste Development, said, “We already use Demag Process Cranes in several refuse incineration plants, for example Shanghai Puxi and Chengdu I, and have always had excellent experience in terms of reliability and service. With this investment in the new cranes, we are again placing our confidence in world-leader technology.”

Thomas H. Hagen, Demag COO, explained that Demag will continue to target the region. “These new orders are a further milestone for Demag Cranes in one of the most attractive growth markets.”
